This is a training contract like no other. As well as legal expertise, you’ll build strong business advisory skills – invaluable in a world where business and legal issues are increasingly intertwined. You’ll be training in a stimulating, multifaceted environment and learning from exceptional people. You’ll quickly gain practical, hands-on experience and lateral thinking skills as part of teams generating creative ways to tackle complex problems. The practice groups you could work in include banking, commercial & regulatory disputes, corporate, cyber security, employment, pensions, nance, IP/IT & Public Sector, real estate, tax disputes. You may also complete a seat in Dubai or on one our many client secondments.
Our three-week paid Summer Vacation Scheme is a great way to find out how we work and see for yourself the ways in which we’re truly unique in the legal marketplace. And you’ll get a highly- competitive wage while you’re here. You’ll have the opportunity to join client meetings and calls, conduct research, practise legal drafting, join our seminar and training programme and work directly alongside our lawyers. The scheme is our principal route towards securing a training contract with us. The next available scheme is the Summer Vacation 2018.
Salary & Benefits
You will be pleased to hear that PwC offer a good starting salary in line with the stature of the establishment. As a trainee you will enjoy 25 days of standard holiday per year as well as range of other benefits from private medical cover to graduate loans.
If we accept you for a legal training contract, you'll get a scholarship award to help with the costs of the Graduate Diploma in Law Course and the Legal Practice Course. If successful, we’ll pay your course and examination fees, and contribute substantially towards your living expenses. We make the payments in three equal instalments.
For the 2017/2018 academic year we’ll pay the following:
- Graduate Diploma of Law (GDL) – £7,000 plus fees
- Legal Practice Course (LPC) – £7,000 plus fees
We offer all our people an impressive reward package, including a competitive salary. The starting salary for Legal trainees was £39,000
What you need to bring us:
We generally recruit two years in advance for trainee solicitors and therefore focus on penultimate year law students and final year non-law students. We can sometimes be flexible however and occasionally make offers commencing sooner than this. You’ll need to be on track for a 2:1 or above and have a UCAS tariff of at least 320 (or equivalent) with a keen interest in business law.
Please note PwC Legal principally recruits Trainees through our Summer Vacation Schemes. The next available scheme is the Summer Vacation 2017. All successful applicants from the 2017 scheme will be offered a Training Contract to join in 2019 or more usually 2020.
