What the Firm Says

Since Crowell & Moring was launched over 45 years ago, our mission has been to provide our clients with the best services of any international law firm in the world through a spirit of trust, respect, cooperation, collaboration, and a commitment to giving back to the communities around us. Academic requirements

Academic excellence is important to us; however, we appreciate that some people face particular challenges during their studies. Whilst we expect applicants to have achieved at least AAB at A’Level (or equivalent) and a 2.1(Hons) degree at a well-respected university, if you have received an official decision of extenuating circumstances from your education provider then we are happy to receive an application from you. Our application form allows you to disclose more details to us in confidence.

In addition to your qualifications, we also value those who have achieved in an extra-curricular context and who are well-rounded and interesting. Personality is a definite plus at our firm! Our clients are a diverse group, and truly appreciate the strong relationships that we build with them, so the ability to use a breadth of your own experiences to relate to people you encounter at work is a fundamental skill for success at our firm.

Additional Requirements - 2025 Start

You must have already completed the LPC/SQE 1 and 2 and be able to join us in January 2025. If successful, you will be employed as a Trainee Solicitor at Crowell for two years. After this point, your qualifying work experience as part of the training contract will be confirmed.

Additional Requirements - 2026 Start

You must have already completed the LPC/SQE 1 or 2 and be able to join us in January 2026. If you have not completed SQE2, then we will assist you with the costs of a part-time preparation course for the SQE and the costs of the examinations. Our expectation is that you will complete those studies and successfully pass those examinations during 2025, and be ready to start your qualifying work experience with us in January 2026.

Diversity interests

At Crowell, we take bold action to keep us moving forward. Accountability, transparency and open communication are the engines of our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). In addition to wider firm initiatives and groups, we have active DEI and Women's Leadership Initiative teams in London, led by Associates and Counsel.
