Founded by twin brothers in 1896, Simmons & Simmons has grown into a vast, multinational law firm. Employees frequently work with high-profile clients on deals worth millions of pounds. 

The firm’s specialities include financial institutions, asset management/investment funds, healthcare and technology, media and communications. Whichever speciality you’re working in, you’ll be working with experts in the field, collaborating with offices across the world and learning more about different jurisdictions. Simmons & Simmons’ Compass programme allows for a unique training contract experience. A year before you even begin your training contract, you’ll complete an online induction, which will allow you to get to know more about the firm, its goals, and the kind of work you’ll be doing. This will be supplemented by a three-week-long introductory programme just before you start and an online trainee hub where you can liaise with your colleagues. This ensures that you’ll receive plenty of support.

When you’re not working, there’s the opportunity to get involved with the firm’s numerous diversity networks. There are also numerous sports and social clubs, ranging from netball and yoga to a choir. You’ll get the chance to connect with like-minded people or perhaps discover a new hobby.

We look for outstanding academic performance. Most candidates have around 120 UCAS points (or equivalent), and are on course for (or already have) at least a 2:1 in their discipline. That said, we’re committed to recruiting the best people from a variety of backgrounds.
