The AllAboutLaw perspective on Gordons

Gordons is a commercial law firm with offices in Leeds and Bradford. The firm provides a unique balance, holding the capabilities of a large, national firm whilst maintaining the personal touch of smaller practices. This allows Gordons' employees to build close connections with nationally renowned clients such as EVRi and B&M, accelerating their reputation of providing valued legal advice.

The Graduate Trainee Solicitor Scheme at Gordons offers a comprehensive training programme. Over two years, you will work in four six-month seats across the firm's practice areas, supervised by an experienced mentor in the sector who will help you reach your objectives and develop your skills as a solicitor. Gordons prioritises building close relationships with their clients, so as a trainee, you will be actively involved in client work from the beginning, providing you with the opportunity to create strong client networks, therefore laying the foundation for a successful legal career. Additionally, the firm offers paralegal opportunities to future trainees, allowing you to gain firsthand experience within the firm before your training formally begins, easing your transition into becoming a trainee solicitor.

Demonstrating a commitment to personal relationships and community improvement, Gordons focuses on social responsibility by annually nominating a charity to support and fundraise. Their 2022-2023 charity, Smart Works Leeds, benefitted from £11,000 in fundraising and additional donations in clothes and volunteering assistance, supporting the charity's dedication to empowering women by offering coaching and support to those facing obstacles in securing employment. Additionally, Gordons' dedication to community impact extends beyond their charitable work, incorporating inclusion into their office. With the launch of their Law Apprenticeship in 2011, Gordons became one of the first law firms to encourage young individuals without opportunities for university education to pursue a career in law, reflecting the firm's inclusive and people-focused nature.
