Training Contract

Capsticks offers all paralegals on their programme the opportunity to apply to train as solicitors. The firm works with each practice area every six months to assess and select candidates, offering them a fantastic opportunity to secure a training contract.

As a trainee solicitor at Capsticks, you will typically undertake 18-24 months of formal on-the-job training while you complete the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), if necessary. You will complete most of your training in your sponsoring division, but the firm will ensure that you gain a breadth of experience in both contentious and non-contentious work, including the opportunity to do one rotational seat in another practice area.

For the SQE, Capsticks partners with the College of Legal Practice to provide you with the best and most flexible learning programme. The College offers a modular learning programme based on the O-shaped lawyer model, which gives trainees the core skills they need to be successful in their careers. This programme is delivered online to give you as much flexibility as possible, and you will be assigned a dedicated tutor/mentor to guide you throughout the course.
