As a trainee at Birketts, you will experience four six-month seats in the firm’s various practice areas. Birketts offers trainees a bespoke trainee content programme, focusing on technical, commercial and soft skills to best prepare you for qualification as a lawyer. From Christmas balls to annual quizzes and competitive sports teams, there are plenty of opportunities for trainees to get involved socially within the firm.
Birketts is committed to creating a supportive environment for their employees. They have adopted a hybrid working policy, allowing individuals to discuss and design their own working week, balancing this around their home commitments. Furthermore, their THRIVE programme provides employees with webinars, training events and expert talks as a step towards becoming more open and accommodating about personal wellbeing and physical and mental health. This is extended outside the firm, with Birketts engaging in 755 hours of pro bono work from 2021-22, partnering with local charities to provide legal advice to those who could not otherwise afford it.
