The Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) is the current route to qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales, having fully replaced the LPC and GDL as the standard path since 2021. It's a two-part "super-exam" (SQE1 and SQE2) that all aspiring solicitors starting their qualification now must pass, alongside two years of qualifying work experience.
