Sidley Application Process
Sidley Austin's application process is somewhat unique, so make sure you familiarise yourself with the process before submitting an application.
The process
At Sidley Austin, all applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Successful applicants will be invited to complete an online assessment, followed by a 1:1 interview with two of our partners or senior counsel.
You will apply first for a vacation scheme, and then will be assessed again during the scheme for a training contract.
The applications for the firm's 2026 winter vacation scheme open on 1 September 2026, with a closing date of 25 September 2026. Applications for the 2027 spring/summer vacation scheme open on 28 September 2026 and close on 8 January 2027.
The 2026 winter vacation scheme will run from 7 to 11 December 2026, the 2027 spring scheme from 5 to 16 April 2027, and the 2027 summer scheme from 21 June to 2 July 2027. The firm recruit for their training contracts through the vacation schemes so they encourage all students to apply and get to know the firm!
