The Journey from Vacation Scheme to Training Contract: What You Need to Know
What does it take to turn a vacation scheme into a training contract? In this session, you’ll hear directly from future Jones Day trainees who recently completed their vacation scheme and secured offers for upcoming intakes.
They’ll share their first-hand experiences, from how they prepared ahead of the scheme and made a great first impression, to best practices for approaching tasks, asking questions, meeting deadlines, and seeking feedback. You’ll also hear advice on navigating the non-rotational training system, building rapport with lawyers, and collaborating with fellow vacation scheme candidates.
Speakers will also highlight the support available throughout the process — from Graduate Recruitment and trainee mentors to interviewing lawyers and peers — and share their tips on how to make the most of every opportunity. The session will finish with a Q&A, giving you the chance to put your own questions to those who’ve successfully been through the process.
