What I wish I knew before my Vacation Scheme

This session gives you the opportunity to hear directly from trainees who have completed vacation schemes and successfully secured training contracts. Through an honest and practical discussion, you will gain insight into what the experience is really like beyond the formal recruitment process.

The session will explore common challenges trainees faced during their schemes, including settling nerves on day one, approaching networking with confidence, managing quieter periods, and handling situations where they felt out of their depth. Trainees will share practical examples of what helped them stand out, mistakes they made, and what they learned from those experiences. There will be opportunities to ask questions throughout, helping you better understand what can make the difference between completing a scheme and securing an offer.
