Baker McKenzie Application Process

From the application form to the assessment centre, here you will gain a valuable insight into the Baker McKenzie application process.

Stage one

The first step of the application process is to complete an online application form. This asks for your academic record, extra-curricular activities, any work experience and questions about your interest in the firm. You will then be asked to submit an online test and then a video interview where you’ll answer pre-recorded questions.

Stage two

If you reach the next stage, you will attend an assessment centre. There will be a group exercise involving a mock business scenario, and then two interviews. The first interview will ask you to read a case study, and then discuss it with two partners.

Stage three

The second interview will assess your competencies, and you will be asked to demonstrate that you have skills and qualities that the firm wants. You will also get the chance to meet with the graduate recruitment team and ask them questions about the firm. The final task will be a document checking test.

None of the tasks will require any legal knowledge, more transferable skills like critical thinking, problem solving and attention to detail.
