The AllAboutLaw perspective on Norton Rose Fulbright
With offices from Canberra to Cape Town, trainees at Norton Rose Fulbright get the chance to work with stellar clients across the globe. Employees even get the chance to advise on US law or gain international experience with the firm’s world-leading Islamic finance practice. The firm also has a number of associate and alliance offices, furthering its international outreach. This means that overseas opportunities are numerous, with past trainees completing a secondment in Dubai, Tokyo, and Paris, to name a few destinations.
Norton Rose Fulbright provides domestic and multi-jurisdictional legal services to corporations, governments, financial institutions, and a range of other public sector organisations. The firm’s practice areas include corporate, intellectual property, and real estate. However, the firm particularly excels in financial institutions and industry sectors like insurance, energy, and life sciences.
The firm is keen to reach as many aspiring lawyers as possible with their stellar vacation schemes and first-year programme, First Step. They also recognise that there is no one route to law and offer a Solicitor Apprentice Programme and a Paralegal Apprentice Programme in their Newcastle office. There’s even an option for those who aren’t interested in becoming a lawyer: a Business & Legal Operations Graduate Scheme.
Trainees are offered plenty of support, each matched with a dedicated partner who offers their support as a mentor throughout the two-year training scheme. Employees are also well supported with numerous benefits available, including music lessons, on-site counselling and local restaurant discounts.
