Exploring commercial law for socially mobile students

Are you a second-year law student or final-year non-law student from a socially mobile background interested in exploring a career in commercial law? Join us for Breaking Barriers: Covington Insight Day, an opportunity to experience life at a leading international law firm, develop your skills and hear directly from the people who work at Covington.

Throughout the day, you will:

- Hear from Covington lawyers and trainees about their journeys into commercial law, including different routes and backgrounds.

- Take part in interactive activities and practical exercises designed to give you an insight into the work of a commercial lawyer.

- Receive practical advice on the application process from Covington’s Legal Recruiting and Professional Development team.

- Learn more about Covington’s work, culture and opportunities for aspiring lawyers.

- Network with lawyers, trainees and fellow students, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and hear about life at the firm.

The insight day is designed to help you build your understanding of commercial law, develop your confidence and gain practical insights that you can use as you take the next steps towards a legal career.

Applicants should be from a socially mobile background and be on track to achieve/have achieved a 2:1 degree, and have strong A Levels (or equivalent). Please note law students must be in their penultimate or final year of university or have graduated, and non-law students must be in their final year or have graduated.
