As a Dentons trainee, you will undertake four six-month seats, including a contentious seat or attending an external litigation course. Your experience will include banking (if in London) and financial litigation, construction or real estate (if in Milton Keynes and Watford). Middle East trainees will spend two seats in the UK and two in the Middle East.

Our teams allow trainees to quickly become an integral part of the business and to be well supervised and supported during the training contract. You may also have the opportunity to work in one of our international offices or with one of our clients.
Your legal training begins with a thorough induction and Professional Skills Course – but that's where the hand holding ends. As part of Dentons you'll be given all the responsibility you can handle, including running parts of cases and meeting with clients.

We offer fortnight - long vacation schemes in London during the Easter and summer vacations and in Milton Keynes and Watford during the summer vacation.
These placements aim to give you a holistic view of the Firm and offer a real insight into commercial law and our way of life at Dentons. We'll put in place opportunities for you to network with partners, associates and trainees, allowing them to get to know you too. By the end of the fortnight we'll both know if we're right for each other!

Your Bright Future Apprenticeship Programme
This exciting programme gives you the opportunity to qualify as a Solicitor and be awarded an LLB university degree by BPP University.
Our six-year programme combines work-based learning in our London office and part time study. You will earn a salary and have no university fees to pay.
You will have one day a week to study and attend classes at BPP University. Its Law School is based in the heart of London's legal district and has an excellent reputation for offering students the skills they need to succeed in law.
The work you will do
You will work in our London office, in a variety of departments such as Banking & Finance, Real Estate, Corporate and Dispute Resolution. As you progress through your apprenticeship, you will be required to produce a portfolio with examples of work you have done in your department. Examples of the type of work you will carry out are: preparing documents for a transaction, drafting a letter to a client and carrying out a piece of research.
As you progress through the programme, you will be given more responsibility, including running parts of cases and meeting with clients.
You will receive comprehensive training throughout the six-year programme.
You will be taught how to assist our lawyers with their work and will be supported by a supervisor and a Human Resources Manager.
You will also be allocated a Personal Tutor and Student Manager through BPP. They will support you, monitor your progress and assist you with your portfolio of workplace evidence.
You will build a portfolio of the experience you have gained and the tasks you have completed in the workplace.
You will take exams and assessments throughout the six-year programme to meet the requirements for the LLB degree. You will also be required to pass the Solicitor Regulation Authority (SRA) centralised assessment, consisting of two parts. BPP University will provide you with guidance and assistance to help you pass these assessments.
Salary and benefits
You will earn a competitive starting salary of £18,000 which will increase as you progress through the apprenticeship programme.

Who we are looking for
We need to see a strong record of academic and extra-curricular achievement. Ideally, we would like to see 7 GCSEs at grade B or above (including Maths and English) and ABB at A level.
You will need to be resilient, hard working and have the drive and ambition to succeed in a highly demanding work environment.

Train with us and we'll gladly recognise your value. You'll earn a competitive salary of £40,000 for first-year London trainees, rising to £44,000 in the second year and £70,000 upon qualification. In Milton Keynes & Watford first-year trainees earn £28,500, rising to £30,000 in the second year and £44,000 upon qualification.
We'll also pay your GDL/LPC law school fees during actual years of study, as well as study maintenance grants of £5,000 per year of study (£6,000 in London) during actual years of study.

Training contract applications can be submitted between 1 October and 31 July, applications for vacation scheme placements should be submitted by 5 January.

If you meet our benchmark percentile in the Watson Glaser critical thinking exercise, you will be invited to an interview with a member of our Graduate Recruitment team. This is a competency-based opportunity for you to expand on your application form and for us to learn more about your abilities first hand.
The final stage of our application process is an assessment centre. The assessment centre will involve a role simulation assessment and a case study interview, both of which will give us an idea of how you'd perform as a Dentons trainee. The case study assesses your ability to analyse information, reach conclusions and generate ideas and the role simulation assessment will give you a real flavour of what it could be like to practise law at Dentons.
