As a Dentons trainee, you will undertake four six-month seats, including a contentious seat or attending an external litigation course. Your experience will include banking (if in London) and financial litigation, construction or real estate (if in Milton Keynes and Watford). Middle East trainees will spend two seats in the UK and two in the Middle East.

All our offices have an excellent reputation and training programme, who focus on high quality work for high quality clients.  Our teams allow trainees to quickly become an integral part of the business and to be well supervised and supported during the training contract. You may also have the opportunity to work in one of our international offices or with one of our clients.

Your legal training begins with a thorough induction and Professional Skills Course – but that's where the hand holding ends.  As part of Dentons you'll be given all the responsibility you can handle, including running parts of cases and meeting with clients.

Vacation Scheme

Want to get a feel for what a legal career with us is really like? By shadowing our trainees, hearing about the work we do and asking lots of questions, you'll find out for yourself about the type of firm we are and whether we're right for you.

We offer fortnight - long vacation schemes in London during the Easter and summer vacations and in Milton Keynes and Watford during the summer vacation.

These placements aim to give you a holistic view of the Firm and offer a real insight into commercial law and our way of life at Dentons. We'll put in place opportunities for you to network with partners, associates and trainees, allowing them to get to know you too. By the end of the fortnight we'll both know if we're right for each other!

These placements consist of business games, department visits and social events, giving potential trainees an insight into commercial law and our way of life at Dentons.

Apply

Training contract applications can be submitted between 1 October and 31 July, applications for vacation scheme placements should be submitted by 5 January.

To apply, first complete the online application, which we will assess. If you're successful at this point you'll be invited to take a Watson Glaser critical thinking exercise, which tests your verbal reasoning and analytical skills.

If you meet our benchmark percentile in the Watson Glaser critical thinking exercise, you will be invited to an interview with a member of our Graduate Recruitment team. This is a competency-based opportunity for you to expand on your application form and for us to learn more about your abilities first hand.

The final stage of our application process is an assessment centre. The assessment centre will involve a role simulation assessment and a case study interview, both of which will give us an idea of how you'd perform as a Dentons trainee. The case study assesses your ability to analyse information, reach conclusions and generate ideas and the role simulation assessment will give you a real flavour of what it could be like to practise law at Dentons.
