The SRA has waded into the row regarding three judges sacked for watching pornography at their offices by giving one of them a stern telling off.
Peter Bullock, who was sacked last year for watching porn on his office computer, has now accepted a written sanction from the SRA as well as accepting the fine of £600 to foot the bill for the investigation.
The SRA stated that in his manner and actions, he had failed to act in an appropriate manner and with the integrity required of his profession.
As such, he was adjudged to have failed to repay public respect towards him.
Bullock stated that in his defence, he had only accessed the inappropriate material in his office and when he was in his “private chambers,” but this was evidently not enough to ease the regulator’s words.
Another of the judges in question, Warren Grant, appeared in the court yesterday stating that he was suffering from “severe undiagnosed depression”.
The tribunal has now adjourned to consider the outcome, so Grant will know what is left for him within the profession after the outcome of the case.
