Application process

Applications close at 6pm (BST) on 21 June 2027, with successful candidates invited to in-person assessment centres in Bristol on 21 or 22 July 2027.

Applicants must complete two online assessments following submission of their application: an untimed Emerging Talent Assessment and a timed Critical Reasoning Assessment.

Successful candidates will attend a final interview in August 2027 and, if offered a place, will begin their training contract in September 2029.

What we offer you

In addition to outstanding training and development opportunities, Burges Salmon offers trainees the chance to work on high-quality, meaningful matters for leading UK organisations while gaining valuable sector expertise. The firm is known for its supportive and collaborative culture, strong focus on wellbeing and inclusion, and commitment to helping people develop both professionally and personally. It was also voted RollOnFriday's "Best Law Firm to Work At 2026" for the fifth consecutive year.

Interviews

Successful applicants after the assessment centres will be invited back for a training contract interview in August 2027 (dates to be confirmed).
