Interviews and assessment centres are inherently high pressure, yet much of the advice candidates receive is unhelpful. Being told to “just be confident” or “calm down” ignores how anxiety actually works.
In this session, Chartered Occupational Psychologist and President Elect at the British Psychological Society Dr Laura Dean and Tiffany Bayliss reframe interview anxiety as a normal physiological response and show how to work with it rather than fight it.
Drawing on psychology and real world legal coaching, the session explores what is really happening in your brain under pressure, how anxiety can affect performance, and how to manage symptoms like panic, racing thoughts, and brain fog.
You will leave with practical strategies, including interview stress testing and symptom specific techniques, to help you perform at your best and turn anxiety into a genuine advantage in legal interviews.
