The first ever Great Team Relay will be taking over the Olympic Stadium in Stratford for the first time ever this summer, with thousands of staff taking part in the city’s largest team challenge.

On Thursday 14th July, from 18.30 onwards teams from solicitors, lawyers and legal clinics around the capital will take part in a unique fundraiser -  a 4x5km relay with all the trimmings – just like our Olympians four years ago.

So far teams from major firms such as Ashurst, Sykes Anderson Perry and Walkers Global have signed up, and 7,000 runners are expected to take part over the course of the evening – as the legal sector squares up to other business sectors from across the capital.

Brendan Foster, Chairman of the Great Run Company, which organises the Great Team Relay, stated that: “Business and running are both booming in London, and law is a vibrant industry sector within the city. The Olympic Stadium and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Newham, East London, is thriving on the London 2012 legacy and it’s fantastic that the city’s law firms have the opportunity to experience their own Olympic moment just weeks from the Rio Games.

“I was in the stadium the night that Mo Farah stormed to his incredible second gold medal four years ago and am really excited that law firms across London will be able to give their staff the experience of running in the same stadium. A Thursday night in the former Olympic stadium is the perfect way to reward employees and relax together with a fun team night out for runners and non-runners alike.”
