The AllAboutLaw perspective on Freeths

Freeths is a leading UK law firm known for its significant regional presence, with 13 offices throughout the UK. Their key values, ‘smart, bold, and together’, drive their legal services, with the firm working collaboratively to find innovative solutions for their clients. Their exceptional client service makes them highly recognised in the legal industry, being listed in The Times Best Law Firms 2023.

Their Legal Assistant Programme and subsequent Graduate Apprenticeship is a unique approach to qualification, allowing you to work for the firm directly after graduation, first as a legal assistant and then as a trainee yourself. As a trainee, you will study once per week at the University of Law for your SQE courses, and you will work four days per week within the firm, rotating every six months through their available seats, such as Business Services, Construction, Employment, Insolvency, Intellectual Property & IT, Litigation, Planning & Environment, Real Estate, Retail, and Private Client. They try to allocate no more than one trainee to each team, allowing trainees to become fully immersed within the department, receiving high-quality work and close contact with clients, helping you make the most out of your training.

As a firm, Freeths is dedicated to supporting their employees' professional and social growth. Their ‘Initiate’ groups bring together lawyers at Freeths who are below partner level, hosting business and social events to encourage young professionals to build relationships across the sector, both within the firm and with the firm’s valued clients. As well as this employee support, as a leading law firm, Freeths are well aware of their corporate responsibility and are involved in many community programs such as mentoring disadvantaged students and engaging in pro bono services, supporting community groups across the UK.
