As the UK's leading full-service law firm, we believe we have something genuinely different to offer our trainee solicitors.
As a national firm, there are 11 different locations where you could complete your training contract. There is a choice of either the Business Legal Services or Personal Legal Services stream.
Within business legal services, expect seat rotations in areas such as banking & finance, insolvency and employment. Personal legal services contain both the personal injury seats, such as serious injury and medical negligence, but also private wealth seats in areas such as will, trust and estate disputes, court of protection and family law.
You will complete four training seats over your two years, each with a high level of partner and senior associate interaction, giving you the chance to gain a diverse set of experiences whilst learning and working with some of the most highly regarded solicitors and legal minds in the UK.
At Irwin Mitchell, our trainees are passionate, creatively minded, have high emotional intelligence and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A large number of training contracts are offered to those who have completed a legal work placement, which is a great way to get a real insight into what life is actually like at the firm.
Irwin Mitchell seek to provide opportunities to those who have a passion for the law and who want to make a positive difference to both society and their future careers. If this sounds like a description of yourself, then this could well be the destination for you.
Your training contract journey begins as soon as you accept your offer. You’ll receive a future trainee pack detailing future trainee events, your mentor buddy and an invite to attend our annual Christmas party! Whether you are still studying or working before you begin, you’ll feel a part of the firm straight away.
If successful, you'll attend a two-week induction before you start your first seat. It’s a great way to get to know the firm and your fellow trainees. With 45 training contracts spread across 11 locations, you’ll have a strong support network of other trainees but still have room to grow and make your mark.
Our dedicated graduate team will ensure that your training contract journey is a positive experience from start to finish – that’s why we are named as one The Times’ Top 100 Graduate Employers of choice.
Deadline for 2022 training contract applications is 30th June 2020.
