When are we recruiting for?
We are recruiting for 2023 and 2024.
What do you look for in a trainee?
We like our trainees to stand out from the crowd. We look for excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
Our training programme is designed to help you reach your full potential.
As one of our trainees, you will undertake six seats of four months across your training contract, enabling you to experience a greater number of practice areas ahead of qualification. One of our significant differentiators is the closeness with which you will work with senior lawyers and partners. Being directly in the middle of good quality work accelerates your learning and will enable you to develop into an exceptional advisory lawyer. We get consistent feedback from our trainees after they qualify that they are confident and well placed to undertake their NQ roles.
When you start, we will offer you a detailed induction and on-boarding programme over your first three months and assign you a buddy from the existing Trainee/NQ population. Our on-going training and coaching sessions through our Business Skills Academy help prepare you to become a qualified solicitor – both legal and non-legal – throughout your training contract. You may also have the opportunity for a secondment with one of our clients as part of your training and to take part in our Virtual Trainee programme.
We put an emphasis on supported personal and professional development throughout your training contract and into your NQ period.
Our Trainees play a key role in our CSR and charitable activities - and you're actively encouraged to get involved in the firm's social calendar. As part of that you will also have a twice-yearly lunch with the Managing Partner.
Where will I be based?
Trainees can expect to spend time in at least two different offices during their training contract. We do not offer seats in our London or Taunton offices.
When is the Vacation Scheme and the Training Contract Assessment Days?
The Vacation Scheme will be held the week commencing 27 June 2022 with candidates attending an Assessment Day on 1 July 2022.
The Training Contract Assessment Days will be held on 5 and 7 July 2022.
What is the recruitment process?
The deadline for the Vacation Scheme is 1 April 2022.
The deadline for the Training Contract Assessment Days is 1 May 2022.
Within two weeks of the respective deadlines you will receive an update on your application. After your application has been reviewed, if successful you will be invited to attend a video interview.
