With a heritage reaching back 150 years, Ince Gordon Dadds is a dynamic international law firm, trusted by the world’s most ambitious individuals and organisations.
We service our global client base from offices across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. We are renowned for providing the highest quality legal advice and strategic guidance to our clients, from the world’s oldest and biggest businesses to ultra-high net worth individuals.
Our heritage gives us a deep expertise, legal knowledge and market experience, which enables us to deliver services to our clients’ most complex disputes, transactions and projects.
We enjoy working with our clients and seek to build lasting relationships with them. Understanding the commercial and technical aspects of their business and the markets in which they operate is important to us. It helps ensure that we provide the very best levels of service. We structure our teams to match the issues they face and to deliver the best value for money.
From the moment you step through the door you’ll be given responsibility for real cases. Although your work will be supervised by partners, you’ll also enjoy a high level of autonomy.
You will get the opportunity to experience a variety of work from Shipping to Corporate and Energy to Family.
Occasionally we’re also able to offer our trainees the opportunity to work in one of our overseas offices, or to go on secondment to one of our clients. Secondment opportunities vary but in the past we’ve had trainees go on secondment to our Monaco, Dubai, Hamburg and Piraeus offices, and to clients across our practice groups including P&I clubs, energy contractors, and Lloyds syndicates.
Here at Ince Gordon Dadds, we run a spring vacation scheme over a two week period. Tasks undertaken often include real casework and could involve attending court, meeting clients and other counsel, drafting letters, and conducting legal research.
Salary & Benefits

Ince Gordon Dadds looks for potential solicitors who have a strong academic background: a 2:1 degree and AAB (or equivalent) at A-level are therefore recommended. The firm is looking for candidates who can demonstrate strong ambition and a clear thought process. They must also be able to articulate why they want to work in law and, more specifically, within Ince Gordon Dadds. You’ll need to be proactive, able to adapt to working in small and large groups as the need arises, be a constructive team player and demonstrate the desire to work hard with enthusiasm.
We will be accepting applications for our 2020 Training Contract until July.
The selection process for trainees includes an online critical thinking test and an interview (which involves written exercises and an in-tray exercise) with a member of HR and a partner from the firm’s Recruitment Committee.
