Jones Day Sustainability

Jones Day are keen to reduce their impact on the environment, and have a number of sustainability initiatives in place.

Our sustainability initiatives

Jones Day London adheres to a number of key initiatives in order to reduce their environmental footprint. They contain their Energy Consumption through LED and sensor lighting, turning unused machines off as a matter of course and contracting with an exclusively eco-friendly local taxi company.

The office also practices appropriate electrical recycling in compliance with WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive) to ensure collection and recycling and recovering targets are met. They estimate that they are recycling over 85% of our own electrical/electronic waste in the London Office. Furthermore, they have several contracts with companies committed to efficient waste recycling and reduction in material usage including paper, glass and food disposables. In the office vicinity, Jones Day also partners with organisations to ensure the City streets are clean and litter-free.

In 2021, the office wide Sustainability Committee was established to continue to drive the commitment of the office. .

Graduate Recruitment and Sustainability

Even before the rise of virtual events, the firm has consistently limited use of any single-use plastics at events, using alternatives such as reusable flasks, digital data collection and the removal of physical brochures. They are also committed to continuing to conduct early recruitment stages virtually to reduce the carbon footprint associated with travel for interviews and in-person events.
