The AllAboutLaw perspective on DWF

As a DWF Trainee you will be given a high level of responsibility, but you'll receive fantastic support from your supervisor, the firm's Emerging Talent team and the Training Principal. You can join the firm in a range of UK locations, including Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Belfast and Dublin. 

You'll complete four six-month seats within the firm's four global practice groups: Corporate Services, Dispute Resolution, Insurance and Real Estate. As part of your rotations, you may also have the chance to complete a client secondment or spend a seat in a different office. Some trainees are also offered the opportunity to complete a seat within the firm's Legal Technology team. 

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a big part of the firm and its core values, so all trainees will be given opportunities to participate in volunteering initiatives through the DWF Foundation.

Academic requirements

We require bright, flexible and open-minded individuals, who are excited at the prospect of having exposure to our four global practice groups; Corporate Services; Insurance; Real Estate and Dispute Resolution. In terms of academics, we have adopted a contextual assessment and look for good A-Levels/Scottish Highers (or equivalent qualifications), and a 2.1 at undergraduate degree level in any discipline (either expected or obtained).
