A good indication of general costs
Pint prices may or may not be at the forefront of some peoples university choice, but it can serve as a good indication of the general cost of living.
At university you end up borrowing thousands, of which, you see very little. Hopefully choosing a location with a lower cost of living should make things better in the long run.

How are Legal Executives different from other Lawyers?
The term lawyer is not technically limited to just Solicitors and Barristers. It means someone qualified and experienced in the law. Increasingly references in legislation are to persons authorised to exercise legal rights under the Courts and Legal Services Act 1990 and similarly under the Legal Services Act 2007 such as Legal Executives.

A general guide to personal statements
Arguably the most difficult part of the UCAS form, writing a personal statement can be a very challenging task. It is your chance to convince the university or college you are applying to that you are worthy of selection. For most degree subjects, law included, the personal statement is viewed by university admissions tutors as a crucial factor in selecting candidates.

Remember it’s an example personal statement, not ‘your’ personal statement!

Ravi explains how he tackled the LNAT test
The LNAT was a necessary procedure in my route to become a law student as quite a few prestigious universities required the taking of the test. I applied to University College of London (UCL), Kings College London (KCL), London School of Economics (LSE), Queen Mary’s University and Brunel University and two needed the LNAT as part of the application.

Becoming a lawyer
What is it that attracts you to a career in law? Is it based on some realistic assessment of what the jobs in this field require and an understanding that you have the personality and experience for it, or have you been attracted by an exciting but not necessarily realistic court-room drama? If it is the former then this article will help you to double-check your thoughts, and if it is the latter then congratulations; this is a good place to check whether you have what it takes for a career in law.

The right course and the right location
There is no question that when you are trying to decide which universities to put on your UCAS form, the issue of where to study must inevitably be closely connected to the course that you want to study. You must get both of these choices right, and if you compromise on one of them, there is a much greater chance that you will make a mistake and potentially drop-out.

Some simple steps for success…
Compiling a ‘winning’ personal statement is one of the most time consuming aspects of completing your UCAS application. Your statement must meet UCAS guidelines in terms of length (no more than 47 lines or 4000 characters including spaces) and clearly explain to the universities you are applying to why you want to study law and why you would be a good law student.
