Work experience gives the edge
- 19th January 2011
A half of law graduates employed by law firms this year will have done work experience with that firm, according to a recent survey.
And an overall third of graduate positions will go to those with work experience at the employer’s organisation.
Out of 100 graduate recruiters surveyed by market research company, High Fliers Research, most also said it was unlikely that an undergraduate without any work experience would get a job. The survey, which polled well-known employers including Merrill Lynch, the NHS and Siemens, suggests that there is an improvement in the graduate market since last Autumn.
