Win a mini pupillage or work experience at law firm

The Sentencing Council has launched its first ever competition for LPC and BPTC students with the winning entrant to be offered a mini pupillage at crime chambers, QEB Hollis Whiteman or a work placement at solicitors’ firm Lewis Nedas & Co in London.
The first written round of the competition will take place in February and the entrants gaining the six highest scores will go on to compete in the semi final and final rounds at the Old Bailey in March. Lord Justice Leveson will preside over the semis and the final. The competition is open to all current BPTC and LPC students. They will then receive further information about taking part.
The Sentencing Council came into force last April and aims to promote greater consistency in sentencing. It produces guidelines on sentencing for the judiciary and aims to increase public understanding of sentencing.
