Wilberforce Chambers makes big increase to pupillage award

With an act that will probably trigger a number of other Chambers increasing their pupillage pay, Wilberforce Chambers has boosted their award by 35%, taking the payment to £65,000 for those set to start in late 2013.
Most chambers had chosen to keep their pupillage salaries fairly flat over the last few years, however with Wilberforce taking a big jump this could be the start of another ‘salary war’ amongst the sets.
Don’t start planning what you’ll be spending your salary on just yet however, pursuing a career as a barrister is one of the most competitive routes you can take. It’s always good to get a nice little incentive though.
