Trainee solicitor wins Labour seat

Trainee solicitor Jonathan Reynolds has won the Labour seat for Stalybridge and Hyde in last week’s general election.
Jonathan, who studied the GDL and LPC at BPP was elected with 16,189 votes, with a majority of 2,744, and has now left his trainee position at Addleshaw Goddard.
Blur drummer Dave Rowntree, who is currently studying on the LPC at BPP, was the Labour candidate for Tory safe seat of the Cities of London and Westminster. He received 8,188 votes coming to second to the Conservative candidate who received 19,264 votes.
Amongst other lawyers who won seats in the election, Helen Grant, a family and community lawyer became the Conservative Party’s first black woman MP. She won the Maidstone and The Weald seat with a margin of 5,889.
