Trainee salaries are frozen

The Solicitors Regulation Authority has frozen the minimum salary levels for trainee solicitors for this year because of the economic conditions.
Each year the SRA stipulates the minimum salary and this week it announced the salary levels for 2010/11 are to remain the same as the previous year.
For central London the minimum salary remains at £18,590 with a recommended salary of £19,040. Elsewhere in England and Wales the minimum salary is set at £16,650 with a recommended salary is £16,940.
