Tomorrows lawyers want City careers
- 04th January 2011
Tomorrow’s lawyers aspire after a career in the City, according to AAL figures recently obtained.
The statistics gathered from the advice pages viewed by the 10,000 students who are registered with AAL show that the most prolific area of search terms reveal a preference for commercial work.
Corporate and commercial practice attracted 1335 and 1250 hits respectively making up nearly 17% of all enquiries. The rapidly growing practice area of human rights and civil liberties law attracted 1,093 hits. Perhaps surprisingly, the fourth most popular search area was crime with 1078 enquiries and which attracted the longest average time on-line.
Other popular areas of practice that AAL users searched for included family law, technology and entertainment law. The least popular areas of searches included shipping law, travel law, personal injury, tax law and construction law, each with less than 3% of the total searches.
