  • The Law Conversion Course is looking less attractive

  • 19th August 2011
  • Over the next few years we are likely to see a reduction in the number of students taking the GDL or law conversion course.

  • The increase in fees that allows universities to charge up to £9000 per year means that the GDL may be less attractive. We may find that more people look to do a straight LLB law degree to save themselves in excess of £10,000.

Jack Denton, co-founder of AllAboutLaw said, "it's something we are going to have to keep an eye over the next couple of years, but in three years £9000 is going to be standard so one more year at that price might not seen as daunting, especially when we look at the potential earning power of lawyers across their life time.".
