Six law teachers shortlisted for award
- 17th November 2010
The Law Teacher of the Year Award has entered its second phase of the competition with six law teachers shortlisted for the chance to win the competition with a £3,000 cash lump sum.
The Award is the only one of its kind in the UK and is run by the UK Centre for Legal Education and sponsored by Oxford University.
A panel of judges has chosen the candidates who are all involved in higher legal education. The six will now be subject to a rigorous judging process in which the judges will visit law campuses to observe and film their teaching methods. The judges will also interview colleagues, students and department heads.
The winner will be announced next January. The six selected law teachers going forward to the final are:
- James Devenney, Durham University
- Liz Fisher, University of Oxford
- Sarah Greer , University of Greenwich
- Stewart Motha , Senior Lecturer, Kent Law School
- Andreas Philippopoulos-Mihalopoulos, University of Westminster
- Zoe Swan, University of Brighton
