Pupillage portal timetable to become compulsory for all chambers
- 23rd March 2011
The Bar Council has ruled that from next year all chambers offering pupillage will have to make all offers through the pupillage portal.
The aim of the move is to make pupillages more open and to provide a more ‘level playing field’ with regards to the timing of offers. Previously, certain deadlines had opened and closed outside of the common timetable.
As of September 2011, however, all pupillage offer schedules must now be aligned to the common timetable. The change comes following a review chaired by Derek Wood QC, which began back in 2008.
