Potential new route for law students into city law firms
- 21st September 2011
A company called Acculaw has recently received backing from the Solicitors Regulation Authority for a new model of trainee recruitment. Acculaw will recruit its own trainees directly from postgraduate law schools and then second them to law firms at various periods.
It is suggested that this will help law firms to save money as they are able to scale back the number of training contracts they offer and reduce the costs associated with training each individual.
Given that city law firms are spending in excess of £150,000 per student throughout the training process, if Acculaw is able to provide a viable alternative it would seem likely that more legal recruiters will opt to use this route in the future.
