Olswang awards diversity training contract
- 25th August 2010
Leading business law firm, Olswang, has handed a training contract to a student who took part in the pilot diversity programme run by the firm in conjunction with BPP Law School.
The access scheme is aimed at GDL and LPC students from the college, which recently won university status, who have performed well in their degrees but do not meet the standard minimum entry requirements at the A-level stage because of ‘extreme’ mitigating circumstances or an unconventional education background. However, they must have achieved either a strong 2.1 or a first in their degree.
Under the scheme, up to two places on Olswang’s Summer Work Placement Scheme will be offered. Successful candidates will have a training contract interview and be formally assessed for a training contract at the firm. A training contract is not guaranteed but offers an additional chance that the candidates might not otherwise have had.
