NQ retention rates on the up

Retention rates for NQ solicitors are on the increase according to figures released by some major law firms.
Addleshaw Goddard retained 89% of its intake – higher than the average figure of 75% across the top 30 firms nationwide.
The average retention for intakes in September across the 30 firms is 81% which represents an increase of 7% on the same time last year based on the number of NQs due to be kept on at their firms.
Nabarro and Wragges retained 86% of their March qualifiers; and other firms that retained a figure higher than the average include Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Allen & Overy, Herbert Smith, Slaughter and May, Eversheds and CMS Cameron McKenna.
