National Pro Bono Week 2009

This year’s National Pro Bono week starts on Monday 9th November with the second Joint National Pro Bono Conference in London and Manchester which will include a workshop on sustaining pro bono in a down-turn economy.
A range of events and activities with a pro bono theme will follow across the UK including lectures, social events and networking opportunities. Advice sessions, legal surgeries and workshop will take place.
Pro Bono Week raises the profile of the important issue of pro bono work in the legal profession – pro bono is crucial to the community and there is a long-held tradition of pro bono work undertaken by the legal profession for free, frequently in collaboration with other professionals. The 2009 National Pro Bono week is being jointly sponsored by the Law Society, the Institute of Legal Executives and the Bar Council.
