Law student remanded on father murder charge
- 17th February 2010
A Kings College law student has been charged with his father’s murder after decomposed body parts were found in his back garden.
Mark Alexander, the 22-year-old law student, entered no plea and was remanded in custody at Reading Crown Court and will next appear in court in May.
He fell under suspicion after his father, a retired university lecturer, was reported missing: he has not been seen since August 2009.
The police launched a missing persons inquiry and searched his home in Drayton Parslow where they found body parts fixed in concrete. They have not yet been confirmed as those of Samuel Alexander, 70, who taught English at De Montfort University.
