Law Student Raped After Not Having Enough Money for a Bus Fare
- 30th May 2012
A 22 year old law student was brutally beaten and raped after being stranded in Nottingham City Centre at 3am.
The law student had previously tried to board a bus home after a Christmas Party but was 20p short of the £5 bus fare needed. The bus driver refused to wait whilst she got some money out of a cash machine.
The law student then called her mother to ask her to pick her up. Whilst walking to meet her, she was grabbed by the neck and dragged into Nottingham’s Forest Recreation Ground where she was beaten and raped, allegedly by Joseph Moran, 19.
The trial continues in Nottingham Crown Court.
