Law student dies from drug overdose
- 16th April 2010
A trainee solicitor who led a clandestine life as an escort girl died after taking a cocktail of drugs.
The drugs included Mephedrone which is banned from today (16th April) as well as GHB and valium. She was also two-and-a-half times over the drink driving limit.
An inquest at Westminster Coroner’s Court heard that 28-year-old Laura Main died in December last year after a Christmas party thrown by her escort agency, Bunnies of London. She also worked as a DJ.
Laura, a student from Scotland, was found dead in her Kensington flat by an estate agent who was showing a prospective tenant around the property. It is understood she had a history of depression and had attempted suicide a number times but had seemed to improve in recent times.
Mephedrone, also known as miaow-miaow, has now been reclassified as a Class B drug after a number of reported deaths connected with the drug.
