Law pays best graduate salaries

According to a survey conducted by the Association of Graduate Recruiters' (AGR) law firms are paying on average £36,500, a 4.3% increase on the 2009 average figure of £35,000. Law was one of the few sectors to anticipate an increase in starting salaries this year.
The survey also shows that graduate investment bankers and fund managers earned an average starting salary of £38,250 and graduates in the banking and financial sectors earned an average of £28,500.
But survey also revealed that law firms are predicting a drop of 11.8% in graduate vacancies between 2009 and 2010, higher than the 6.9% drop expected across the sectors.
