Law bursary available at CoL York
- 03rd June 2010
The York branch of the College of Law (CoL) is taking applications from law students for it annual Tracy Kaye/Berrymans Lace Mawer LLP Memorial Bursary, to help with the LPC tuition fees.
Applications for the £1,500 bursary are invited from students who have accepted a place on the LPC at York - but they must be able to demonstrate that their financial position would make it difficult to get further in their legal studies without the award.
The successful candidate will have the chance of a week’s work experience at Berrymans Lace Mawer in Leeds before starting their LPC studies. The bursary was set up last year in memory of a personal injury lawyer at the law firm who died in 2006.
Applicants for the bursary must have an interest in contentious legal practice and must be able to demonstrate commitment to a career as a solicitor and to helping others through charity or pro bono work. They must also have skills in a non-academic competitive environment.
