Graduate of first CoL (Birmingham) intake makes partner
- 14th August 2010
Nine years after being one of the first graduates from the Birmingham centre of the College of Law (CoL), an LPC graduate has been promoted to partner at Midlands firm Berryman.
He joined the Reorganisation and Recovery Team at the Nottingham firm in 1996 and, after some years working with team members to build the department’s reputation and acting on both contentious and non-contentious corporate insolvency and bankruptcy instructions, he now heads up the team. Carl says: “Promotion to partner is great recognition of my personal achievements and those of the team over the last few years.”
Bernardette Griffin, director of the CoL in Birmingham, said: “We are delighted that Carl has become a partner at such a young age. He was a student on The College of Law in Birmingham's first LPC intake in 2001 and, as an alumnus, has been very supportive of our initiatives. We are extremely proud of his achievements in the legal world to date and he is an excellent role model for all our students.”
Carl has also been singled out in the Legal 500 directory, the annual in-depth survey of UK legal firms. The directory says he “stands out for clients who value quick response times, coupled with accurate and appropriate advice”.
