  • Graduate jobs to increase

  • 19th May 2010
  • Nearly 40 percent of employers say they are to increase graduate recruitment in 2010, according to a survey by the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR).  Almost 100 companies were contacted last month with 60 per cent indicating they are still open for applications.  More than half of those surveyed expressed optimism about the economy.

  • And the prospects for trainees in law firms are looking up with newly qualified retention rates starting to increase again at city firms.  Eversheds has also announced that it is doubling the number of foreign seats on offer to its trainees – just a year after suspending its graduate recruitment programme.

The news provides a glimmer of optimism for law students and legal trainees.  The recession may officially be over, the job market is slowly improving – and the signs are promising.
