  • Freshfields application deadline shortened

  • 10th May 2010
  • International firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has brought forward its deadline date for non-law students’ applications for training contracts.

  • The decision has been made following a surge in applications for trainee places.

The firm’s deadline for final year non-law students is usually 31 July but this has been brought forward to 31 May.  Freshfields trainee recruitment consultant, Ben Staveley, says: “Most law firms want each intake of trainees to comprise a mixture of law and non-law students. Freshfields certainly does. We have already received a strong flow of applications from non-lawyers for our 2012 training contracts and want to keep enough room in the intake for law students who will be applying later.

“We still encourage non-law students who were thinking of applying for our 2012 training contracts to do so before the deadline and would be happy to receive their applications." Ben Staveley, trainee recruitment consultant.

Freshfields will take on its usual number of 90 trainees although it does not have a set quota for non-law graduates.
