Law Society’s Diversity Access Scheme open Despite its lack of funds

The DAS is the Society’s initiative to boost social mobility within the legal profession and was set up to attract the best talent to the profession who could be held back by financial hardship, disability, illness or other factors. The scheme relies on donations made to the Law Society Charity but is currently short of funds.

Applicants must fulfil certain criteria including showing that they are in a position of such exceptional financial hardship that it would be difficult to continue their legal studies without support.  They must also be able to show they are eligible to work in England and Wales without restriction.  The submission deadline is midnight on 31^st March.
