Disabilities Division mini-conference
- 20th October 2010
The Lawyers with Disabilities Division (LDD) is to hold a one day mini-conference later this month for law students who have disabilities and who want to qualify as a solicitor.
The LDD, a Law Society group, will advise participants at the conference how to get started in the application process including explaining the recruitment policies of a City law firm, work-based learning, and advice on declaring a disability. There will be a session on CV writing and the application process as well as interview techniques. This will be followed by a mock interview.
A panel will discuss their perspective on careers in private practice, local government, industry and becoming an academic. You will also hear about access to work. Finally the Judicial Appointments Commission will give an overview of planning a career in the judiciary.
