  • College of Law warns of LPC Graduate surplus

  • 20th April 2011
  • The College of Law has suggested that the number of vacancies available for solicitors’ training contracts with soon outnumber the amount of LPC Graduates coming through each year.

  • According to their latest forecasts, there will be 14% more training contracts available than annual graduates of the Legal Practice Course, equating to a surplus of 550 places. More conservative estimates indicate however than this surplus will not rise until the 2013/14 academic year.

Prof Nigel Savage, the College’s Chief Executive said: “It is worrying that the number of LPC graduates appears to be falling at a faster rate than trainee vacancies”.
