College of Law warns of LPC Graduate surplus
- 20th April 2011
The College of Law has suggested that the number of vacancies available for solicitors’ training contracts with soon outnumber the amount of LPC Graduates coming through each year.
According to their latest forecasts, there will be 14% more training contracts available than annual graduates of the Legal Practice Course, equating to a surplus of 550 places. More conservative estimates indicate however than this surplus will not rise until the 2013/14 academic year.
Prof Nigel Savage, the College’s Chief Executive said: “It is worrying that the number of LPC graduates appears to be falling at a faster rate than trainee vacancies”.
