CoL students negotiate a win

Two student barristers from the College of Law (CoL) have won a national competition for student negotiators - for the second consecutive year. And the winners, BVC students Laura Searle and Jane Harvey, will now represent the UK and CoL in the International Negotiation Competition in Queensland, Australia in July.
The competition final involved 12 teams tasked with making deals and resolving disputes on behalf of fictional clients during the course of three negotiations. The finalists were judged by legal practitioners and academics on the outcome of their negotiation, their preparation, flexibility, teamwork, ethics and their relationship with the opposing team.
The competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate law schools in England and Wales and is sponsored by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR).
